This website provides updated information about the activities of ESA RN27 together with news of interest for the sociological community of Southern Europe. The website is open to the active participation of the members and collaborating institutions.

ESA RN27 is one of the research networks of the European Sociological Association. Its aim is to facilitate sociological research and to promote international cooperation between sociologists and other social scientists interested in social trends and social issues concerning the South of Europe. This network organizes mid-term conferences every two years, sessions at the ESA conferences, publications and activities for early career researchers. It counts with the active support of the RESU international network (Réseau des associations de sociologie de l’Europe et des pays du sud) formed by the sociological associations of Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and France. ESA RN27 further welcomes the participation of researchers from neighbouring countries working on common social issues, especially from the Mediterranean area, the Middle East and other regions of Europe.
